2021 Season’s Greetings

Season’s Greetings,

As we near the end of 2020, I trust you understand what is important and what can be let go of.

As someone who looks after others, it is easy to forget about oneself. The importance of taking care of yourself, is not a selfish act, but one that benefits everyone around you.

Make sure you take care of your body with good foods to keep your energy levels high and immune system functioning. It is very important to keep those elimination pathways working too, because we all know we indulge a tiny bit over the holiday season!

Get in some physical movement as we need to keep our joints and muscles healthy.

For some the holidays can be stressful. Keeping a journal to write down what is bothering you can help to understand what you may need to release and let go of. Meditation is a helpful tool , but not everyone is able to or wants to, so a nice walk is great or even spending time in nature to help reconnect and reset our frequency.

Being grateful for all the we have is another great tool to help us keep our energy levels up and mind in a healthy place. No matter how you choose to celebrate this holiday season, may you do so safely and joyfully.

Holiday hours for the clinic will be from December 21 to January 3, 2021.

I will be in the clinic until December 18 till 3pm if you would like to pick up gift certificates, or if you need some essential oils or other color energy products for stocking stuffers, I would be happy to book a time for picking up those items, as we must keep the clinic safe for everyone. You can text or call me at 705-840-8841. I will be available for those pick ups until December 24th.

As always, it is a pleasure and an honor to help you on your healing journey. I feel blessed that you have entrusted me with your care.

I look forward to the new year and hope to see your beautiful faces in 2021!

Merry Christmas and Have a Joyful New Year!

Internal Rhythms – Gradually Reopening

Massage therapy is gradually opening up. I am excited to provide service to all of you after a long hiatus.

Keeping all of you in mind, I will do my best to exhaust all options to rebook your appointments as soon as possible. I do request for your patience since there is a slight overload of clients.

However, clients from March and those whom I have been seeing on a weekly and bi-weekly basis will be given priority. I perceive that their needs are higher since they have not received any service offered to them since then.

There will be added duration of waiting time in between clients to ensure that we perform extra disinfecting practices for your protection.

Your health and safety is always a priority so you will be asked some basic screening questions when you arrive for your appointment.

Please make sure to go the self assessment link and pre screening at
http://www.health.gov.on.ca/en/pro/programs/publichealth/coronavirus/docs/2019_patient_screening_guidance.pdf

There are also additional protocols in place:

•    There will be no chairs in the waiting area so we advise you to wait in your car for your appointment or come at the precise appointed time. However, if your kid or spouse is with you, seating will be provided.

•    You will be required to wash your hands before and after your session.

•    We doubled up on our disinfection practices take extra care in specific, commonly touched surfaces like door handles, bathroom fixtures and every counter surface. Linens and table cleanliness are also of great importance.

•    Masks are to be worn at all times by clients, including myself. If you have issues and cannot wear a mask, we can certainly talk about it during your booking call. Similarly, I may not be comfortable in wearing a mask for more than an hour so all sessions will be performed at 1 hour time slots.

•    Hydrotherapy is not allowed at this time so our Thai steam treatments will not be available until further notice.

If you have any additional questions and clarifications please do not hesitate to call our office.

I happily look forward to seeing all your smiles and reconnect with you again soon!

Kind regards,
Vanessa Brown RMT

Season's Greetings

Season’s Greetings!

December can be a very busy time of year as we get ready for the holiday season and for some of us it can be a big cause of anxiety and depression. I hope you find the few simple tricks included in this newsletter beneficial at helping ease some of these issues.

With the hustle and bustle of the season we actually forget to BREATHE! So, the first simple trick is to start taking deep purposeful breaths. Take a deep breath and hold for a few seconds and then allow the breath to release. Allow your shoulders to drop as you do this. You can repeat as often as you like. I tend to do this while I am standing in line or at the stop lights. I remember to take these breaths often. You will feel the body start to feel less tense as you do this.

The second trick is to remember to be compassionate towards others and yourself. Everyone is in the same boat. Some people are so busy rushing they forget that there are other people around. Be mindful that you are not the only person feeling stressed. Others are too. Be more patient. Be more aware that you are in control of your thoughts. You CAN be more patient, understanding and compassionate. This really helps to alleviate some of the stresses at this time of year and I hope you have found it helpful.

I also wanted to share with you that coming in January you will be able to book online. There have been a few glitches in the system, and I am hopeful that by January it will all be sorted out.

Remember that an Align Treatment is the more advanced treatment where I am working on balancing your posture and range of motion of the joints giving the body the opportunity to be balanced and healed. The massage therapy option is for just that – a massage. The Thai Stem Massage is an hour and a half so if you are booking that, make sure to give the correct time limit.

On another note, I have to admit that at this time of year I have a guilty pleasure of making an organic dark hot chocolate with steamed almond milk and a splash of Bailey’s Irish Cream! What’s yours?

I wish everyone a happy and joyous new year. Merry Christmas! I hope to see you all in the new year.

Many blessings,
Vanessa
